Beginner Wine  Making Class Schedule

For Spring of 2010


Tuesday March 2nd 6pm -7pm  Start your Kit

Tuesday March 9th 6pm-7pm  Rack to Carboy

Tuesday March 23rd 6pm-7pm  Check for Clarity

Tuesday April 6th 6pm-8pm  Bottle your Wine

Class size is limited to 10 students per session so sign up early!


Design your own custom labels and bring on bottling day or for a small charge we can order standard labels and have them for you on bottling day.

The cost for your class is $140.00 per student and includes:

Up to 28 bottles, corks, capsules, your choice of wine kit and all the help and use of the equipment you will need to make really great wine.

Goose Lake Farm and Winery

Is now offering wine making classes for you to make Wine from your fresh fruit!

2010 season

Class starts on Thursday August 5th and runs to Thursday February 3rd.


Class size is limited to 5 people so sign up early.


What you need:

15 lbs. of fresh fruit, examples; strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, peaches or plums.

10 lbs. of sugar (cane sugar is fine)


We will supply for your use all the equipment, testing and expertise you will need to make your own wine from your fresh fruit.


NOTE: August 5th through the 12th every day at 9am.

Schedule;

Day 1- Thursday August 5th, 9 am,

Bring 15 lbs. of fresh or thawed fruit to start your         wine. Crush the fruit and add the other needed         ingredients.

Day 2- Friday August 6th, 9am,

Test wine for specific gravity and adjust if necessary,         then pitch the yeast.

Day 3- Saturday August 7th, 9am,

Check your wine specific gravity and stir the must.

Day 4- Sunday August 8th, 12 pm,

Stir and test.

Day 5- Monday August 9th, 9am,

Stir and test.

Day 6- Tuesday August 10th, 9am,

Stir and test.

Day 7- Wednesday August 11th, 9am,

Stir and test,

Day 8- Thursday August 12th, 9 am,

Test and press to secondary fermentor.

Day 9- Thursday September 2nd, 6pm,

Test, rack and test for sulfites.

Day 10- Thursday November 4th, 6pm,

Test, sweeten to taste and add necessary ingredients.

Day 11- Thursday January 5th, 6pm,

Rack your wine and add clarifier.

Day 12- Thursday February 3rd  6pm, 

Bottle your wine!


Price for the class is $115.00 per person and includes bottles, caps and corks.


Participants are responsible for all prep work and clean up.

Port Wine Making Classes for Winter 2010


Classes will be offered on your choice of 2 dates.

Starting January 3rd and finishing on February 21st

OR

Starting March 7th and finishing on April 25th


Class size is limited to 8 people for each session so sign up early!


Schedule for the January 3rd class start is as follows:

Sunday January 3rd 12 pm to 1pm. Start your kit

Sunday January 10th 12pm to 1pm. Chapelization

Sunday January 17th 12pm to 1pm Rack Wine

Sunday January 31st 12pm to 1pm Stabilizing and Clearing

Sunday February 21st 12pm to 3pm Taste, Bottle, Label and Cork.

You will have approx. 28, 375 ml. bottles of your own special wine to share!


Schedule for the March 7th class start is as follows:

Sunday March 7th 12pm to 1pm. Start your kit

Sunday March 14th 12pm to 1pm. Chapelization

Sunday March 21st 12pm to 1pm Rack Wine

Sunday April 4th, 12pm to 1pm. Stabilizing and Clearing

Sunday April 25th, 12pm to 3 pm, Taste, Bottle Label and Cork
